College Football - Oklahoma vs. Missouri
- Oklahoma will be appearing in the Big 12 Championship Game for the sixth time in eight years. The Sooners sport a
4-1 record in previous appearances, winning in 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2006.
- Oklahoma ranks third nationally in scoring offense (43.8 per game) and has scored at least 40 points in eight games
this season, tying a school record (1971 and 2003).
- Mizzou is the only school in the country to score at least 30 points in every game this season.
NBA Basketball - Boston @ Miami
- Miami is averaging a league-low 38.1 rebounds per game this season. The Heat have not outrebounded their
opponent in a game since November 11 when they outrebounded the Knicks, 43-39.
- In Boston’s win over New York last night, Kevin Garnett scored just eight points. It was the first time Garnett scored
fewer than 10 points since April 17, 2002 when he played against the Nuggets.
NHL Hockey - New York Rangers @ New Jersey
- The Rangers are looking for their first road win of 2008, having lost six straight games away from Madison Square
Garden.
- Devils goalie Martin Brodeur is 26-6-3-1 (1.82 GAA) all-time versus the Rangers at home and is looking to avoid his
first two game home losing streak against them since losing his first home two games against the Rangers.
NFL Football - New York Giants @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Jon Gruden is 5-3 all-time in the postseason while Tom Coughlin has posted a 4-6 record in his 10 playoff games. Coughlin has
led the Giants to three consecutive playoff appearances for the first time since 1984-86.
- Jeff Garcia is 4-1 all-time against the Giants including 2-0 in the postseason. Garcia led the Niners to a 39-38 come-from-behind
win in a 2003 wild-card game and he led the Eagles to a 23-20 victory over New York in last year’s playoffs. Assuming Garcia starts
against the Giants on Sunday, he will become the first QB in the Super Bowl era to start a playoff game in three different uniforms
against the same team.
- The Giants played hard last Saturday but came up short in becoming New England’s 16th victim of 2007. New York defeated just
one team that finished the season with a winning record (Washington in Week 3) and was 1-5 overall vs. such teams in 2007.
Major League Baseball - San Diego @ Colorado
- Today’s game will be played in Denver because the Rockies won one of a series of coin flips recently conducted to determine
possible tiebreaker sites.
- The Rockies won the season series between these teams 10-8, including a 5-4 mark against the Padres at Coors Field.
- Todd Helton is hitting .386 (22-for-57) with four doubles, three homers and 13 RBI over his last 14 games. Helton is 12-for-35
(.343) with two homers in his career against Jake Peavy.
