Gary Walrath
Chief Executive Officer
Gary Walrath joined STATS in 2003. Mr. Walrath serves as Chief
Executive Officer of the company and is responsible for extending STATS
partnerships and spearheading growth in key business segments, including
television, print, wireless applications, interactive media platforms
and fantasy sports. He also will direct the exploration of new initiatives
in relevant international markets.
Most recently, he was Executive Vice President of Operations for the
STAR Group, a Hong Kong based wholly owned subsidiary of News Corporation,
with extensive television and media interests extending from the Middle
East through India, China, Taiwan and Southeast Asia. At various times,
he was responsible for digital broadcast operations, satellite uplink,
internet initiatives, IT, finance, human resources, customer service,
facilities and administration.
Steve Byrd
Executive Vice President
Steve Byrd has been with STATS since 1997. He originally served as Vice President of Marketing for the company then became Vice President of the STATS Fantasy Sports Business Unit. Mr. Byrd’s responsibilities include sales, marketing, business development and product development.
Mr. Byrd is a Founding Board Member of the fantasy sports industry trade group known as the Fantasy Sports Association (FSA). STATS Fantasy Sports powers games for leading media companies including NBA.com, Sports Illustrated, USA Today, WWE, and Ultimate Fighting Championship as well as Fremantle/19’s American Idol brand.
Mr. Byrd has been in the sports industry for 15 years. Previous to STATS, he served in senior marketing, sales management and business development positions at Wilson Sporting Goods, AMF Bowling & Billiards and Sports Sciences. Mr. Byrd has an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BSME from Purdue University.
Robert L. Schur
Executive Vice President
Robert Schur has been with STATS since 2000. Mr. Schur serves
as senior vice president of the company, and is in charge of STATS'
Commercial Unit and the Data Collection Business Unit as well as legal
oversight for the company.
Prior to joining STATS, Mr. Schur was Vice President of Development
for Senior Lifestyle Corporation, an owner/operator of seniors housing
headquartered in Chicago. In this role, he was responsible for managing
the new product development process throughout the U.S. for the company.
Mr. Schur has also acted as a business consultant for a wide array of
companies, including technology-based organizations. In addition to
his managerial experience, Mr. Schur's background includes extensive
financial management and acquisition oversight.
He holds a BA from Indiana University, an MBA from the University of
Illinois and a J.D. from the IIT-Kent College of Law. Mr. Schur is also
a Certified Public Accountant.
